Back to Basics Beginner’s Meeting

SEXAHOLICS ANONYMOUS: BACK TO BASICS BEGINNER’S MEETING

SEXAHOLICS ANONYMOUS: BACK TO BASICS BEGINNER’S MEETING

Back in the 1940’s a style of meeting had enormous success with various groups documenting recovery rates between 75% and 93%. These meetings were patterned after Dr. Bob Smith’s method of sponsoring people. He felt that this is a simple program based more on taking action than on knowledge. He wasted no time in having his sponsees be introduced to the 12 Steps. He had the founder of AA in Chicago “take” the steps in several hours (“He Sold Himself Short”, in the book Alcoholics Anonymous).

These early meetings in that spirit had the beginner take the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous in four 1-hour sessions. Not wanting to reinvent the wheel, the BACK TO BASICS BEGINNER’S MEETING is formatted to accomplish the same thing in much the same way. We ask the question – Do you want to be happy, joyous, and free now or later?

Over 300,000 people nationally have said “now”. Over 50 sexaholics in the Puget Sound Region have said “now”. If “now” for you too, please join us. These meetings meet:

  • When: Tuesdays at 5pm from January 19th – February 9th
  • Where: Shoreline Covenant Church 1330 N 185th St.  Shoreline, WA  98133 – map
  • Questions: call Dan J. 206-779-0418 or Gary B. 425-438-8543

The meetings will take the Steps according to the following schedule:

  1. First meeting: Overview & Step 1
  2. Second meeting: Steps 2, 3, 4
  3. Third meeting: Steps 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
  4. Fourth meeting: Steps 10, 11, 12

If you do not have a sponsor for these steps the meeting will appoint one for you as a temporary during these sessions.

If you are looking for a sponsee come to the first session.

If you want a great Big Book review come anytime. We “take” the 12 Steps of Sexaholics Anonymous according to the instructions found in the book, Alcoholics Anonymous.

Please remember to bring your own book, Alcoholics Anonymous. The printed format used for these meetings is available at the meeting for $4.
